LYMPHATIC RESEARCH AND BIOLOGY
"The launch of a new journal dedicated to the study of lymphatic endothelium and the lymphatic system, signals the emergence of a new field of research. Recent elucidation of molecules and factors, which regulate lymphatic endothelial growth discovered by methods and logic developed for angiogenesis research, has enabled the uncovering of mechanisms for lymphangiogenesis. Increasing basic research on the lymphatic system and its pathology will lead to translation to clinical applications which may alleviate suffering in the many patients afflicted with diseases of the lymphatic system."

The official journal of The Lymphatic Research Foundation. An authoritative, peer-reviewed journal that focuses on the interdisciplinary research of lymphatic biology, disease and therapeutics.

This quarterly publication provides a forum for the dissemination of research advances that emanate from a broad array of interdisciplinary approaches to lymphatic biology. The rapid and exciting evolution of lymphatic investigation will undoubtedly lead to long anticipated insights, with associated clinical implications for disease management. Presently, the application for indexing status is before the National Library of Medicine.

Hundreds of millions of people worldwide suffer with diseases related to the lymphatic system. Within the last decade there has been an unprecedented explosion of lymphatic biology research. The advancement of lymphatic research has important implications not only for cancer and the way it metastasizes, but also for diseases such as lymphatic disease and lymphedema, AIDS, wound-healing, inflammatory and autoimmune disorders. Physicians and therapists treating patients with diseases relating to the lymphatic system must stay current with the latest research advancements to foster optimal care for their patients. Original submissions to Lymphatic Research and Biology address diverse, relevant areas of biomedical investigation such as:

  • Vasculogenesis and Angiogenesis
  • Genetics of Lymphatic Disorders
  • Human Lymphatic Disease, Including Lymphatic Insufficiency and Associated Vascular Anomalies
  • Physiology of Interstitial Fluid and Protein Balance
  • Immunosurveillance and Immune Cell Trafficking
  • Tumor Biology and Cancer Surveillance and Metastasis
  • Pharmacology
  • Lymphatic Imaging
  • Endothelial and Smooth Muscle Cell Biology
  • Inflammation, Infection, and Autoimmune Disease
The Journal features fundamental scientific research drawn from a variety of investigative disciplines and allied technologies including: genetics; biochemistry; biophysics; cellular and molecular biology; physiology and pharmacology; anatomy, developmental biology, and pathology.
